Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and how you can control cookies and exercise privacy rights. It replaces older template language (including any leftover “www.website.com” wording).

1. Summary
- Most calculator math runs in your browser. We do not need your numeric inputs to operate standard tools.
- We may collect technical logs (IP, user agent, referrer, timestamps) via hosting infrastructure.
- Cookies for analytics or ads load only if you allow them through our cookie banner (where enabled).
- If you email us or use the contact form, we process the information you send to reply.
- We do not sell personal information as a standalone product.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Calculator inputs
Values you type into calculators are processed locally in your browser for standard tools. Those inputs are not stored in a user account on our side because we do not require accounts for ordinary calculator use. If a future tool intentionally sends data to a server (for example a save-link feature), that tool will disclose it on the page before you submit.
2.2 Contact & support data
If you contact us, we may process:
- Name
- Email address
- Message content, topic, and optional page URL
- Technical metadata from the form provider (timestamp, spam score)
Purpose: respond to your request, fix bugs, handle legal/privacy matters, and keep a limited support record.
2.3 Server / security logs
Our hosting provider may automatically record:
- IP address
- Date and time
- Requested URL
- HTTP status, bytes transferred
- Browser user agent
- Referrer URL
Purpose: security, abuse prevention, debugging, capacity planning, and basic traffic statistics.
2.4 Cookies & similar technologies
See also our Cookie Policy. Categories:
| Category | Examples | When loaded |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Consent storage (ddc_cookie_consent), load balancing, security | Always |
| Analytics | Google Analytics or similar (only if we enable it) | Only with consent |
| Advertising | Google AdSense / ad measurement cookies (only if ads are active) | Only with consent (where required) |
2.5 Analytics data (if enabled)
If analytics is enabled and you consent, we may receive aggregated or pseudonymous metrics such as pages viewed, approximate geo (city/country level), device category, session duration, and traffic source. We configure analytics to avoid collecting calculator field values as custom events unless a tool explicitly says otherwise.
2.6 Advertising data (if AdSense or other ads are enabled)
After approval and if ads are placed on the site, Google and other ad partners may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads, limit frequency, and (where allowed) personalize ads. Google’s policies and controls: Google Advertising. You can also use Google Ad Settings and industry opt-outs where available.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Legitimate interests — site security, fraud prevention, basic server logs, responding to voluntary inquiries
- Consent — non-essential cookies (analytics/ads) where required
- Legal obligation — when we must retain or disclose information to comply with law
- Contract / steps at request — when you ask us to provide a specific support action
4. How we use information
- Operate, secure, and improve the website and calculators
- Respond to messages and bug reports
- Measure aggregated traffic (if analytics enabled + consented)
- Display ads (if advertising enabled + consented where required)
- Enforce terms, prevent abuse, and protect rights
- Comply with lawful requests
5. Sharing
We share data only with:
- Hosting / CDN / DNS providers — to serve the site and absorb traffic
- Form / email infrastructure — to deliver contact messages (e.g. Formspree or equivalent if configured)
- Analytics providers — only if enabled and consented
- Advertising partners — only if ads are live (e.g. Google)
- Professional advisors or authorities — when required by law or to protect rights
We do not sell personal information for money. Some advertising disclosures may be considered “sharing” for targeted advertising under certain US state laws; use the cookie banner and partner opt-outs to limit this.
6. International transfers
We operate from the United States. If you access the site from another country, your information may be processed in the US and other countries where our processors operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards offered by providers (such as standard contractual clauses).
7. Retention
| Data | Typical retention |
|---|---|
| Server logs | 30–90 days (unless needed longer for security investigations) |
| Contact emails / form tickets | Up to 24 months, or shorter after the matter is closed |
| Cookie consent record | Until you clear storage or up to 12 months, then re-prompt |
| Analytics aggregates | Per provider settings (often 2–14 months) |
8. Security
We use HTTPS, access controls on publishing systems, and least-privilege practices for operator accounts. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not submit passwords, government ID numbers, or sensitive health/financial account numbers through calculators or the contact form.
9. Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the digital consent age). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. To exercise rights, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your request. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California / similar US state rights: you may request know/delete/correct and opt out of sale/share for cross-context behavioral advertising via cookie controls and by emailing us with subject line “Privacy Request”.
11. Do Not Track
Browsers may send DNT signals. Our cookie banner is the primary control for non-essential cookies. We do not currently respond to every DNT signal in a uniform way across all third parties.
12. Third-party links
Tool pages may reference external standards bodies, documentation, or resources. Their privacy practices are their own.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Effective” date at the top will change. Material changes will be posted on this page.
